June Kahler Berry Scholarship Needs You!

This announcement was made through the TALL Texans list, but it definitely deserves a reminder here on the blog. Thanks to Tina Oswald, Kate DiPronio, Beth Thomsett-Scott and Mary Jo Venetis for organizing this!

*******************************************************

Prior to the Annual Assembly in July 2003, TALL Texans came together by donating monies to honor June Kahler Berry’s tenure as the TALL Texans Institute Coordinator. At that time, we raised $8,000 to start the endowment. The fund was to ensure that there would be monies to assist future TALL Texans to attend the Institute.

Take a walk down memory lane and revisit the announcement of the June Kahler Berry Fund for TALL Texans Scholarship along with photographs taken during the event at http://www.txla.org/groups/ttrt/special.htm

However, we are currently behind in raising the needed $25,000 to make the endowment a reality. The TALL Texans Round Table (TTRT) officers created an ad hoc task force as an effort to raise the additional $3,000 needed, and agreed to donate $10 for each $25 contribution made until the TTRT contribution reaches $1,500.

Therefore, we are coming to you, former and current TALL Texans, asking once again that you pledge a contribution to the June Kahler Berry Scholarship. It is easy to contribute to the June Kahler Berry Scholarship by following instructions to print the form at the site: http://www.txla.org/groups/ttrt/scholarship.htm and then fax or mail the form to the TLA office. Even easier, you can make a donation at the Annual Assembly.

Let’s tip our hats to the wonderful work June did for TALL Texans by making her endowment a reality! Together, we can make it happen.

Thank you
The June Kahler Berry ad hoc Task Force members:

Tina Oswald, chair; Kate DiPronio, Beth Thomsett-Scott and Mary Jo Venetis
